DAY 3. CORDOBA TO SAN JAVIER
After breakfast, we leave behind the hectic city of Córdoba and we go straight to a more peaceful and relaxing place. We take national route 20 and after 1 hour drive we arrive at the entrance on National Park Quebrada del Condorito (condor`s gorge).
We continue our day along the high peaks road till reach Sam Javier. A little town located in a valley inside a larger one: Traslasierra valley. The village is known for having a local set
of atmospheric conditions that differ from those in the surrounding areas. It is enclosed by Sierras Grandes: this natural barrier cut off the passage of different air currents, for example, those of the Atlantic that arrive loaded with humid air and pollutants that have collected from their passage through the Humid Pampas.
Another key element of the microclimate is that the mountain massifs that surrounded the area have an electric charge in their rocks very low, with negative ionization. At the same time the
decomposition of granite is releasing oxygen atoms that in the atmosphere become ozone.
Along with the local microclimate there are other interesting facts that have sedative and relaxing effects on humand body. Just to name a few, the air in the region has an optimal distribution of oxygen that combined with the mountain minerals as granite and uranium. On the orther hand, the negative ions and the sun that shines for almost 320 days a year have an impact on the atmosphere too.
We will enjoy a picnic on a unique spot during the trip.
Night at Posada La Matilde.
